The Portland Interscholastic League (PIL) carries pride and a storied past, accompanied by athletic achievement and excellence. Led by a group of new directors, PIL recruited Caffelli to ignite a rebranding effort and launch the organization’s network of 9 athletic teams and departments into the future.
With Caffelli's extensive knowledge of the Nike brand, we were uniquely suited to create a perfect-fit logo for this Nike-sponsored league. Caffelli's internal design team took PIL's unique vision and brought it to life with a versatile, eye-catching logo that easily translates to a wide range of school-branded assets. It needed to communicate the core values of strength, unity, longevity and respect, while being versatile enough to allow individual schools within the league to co-brand their identities with the new PIL logo.
The result was a strong, flexible logo that commands attention without distracting from existing team branding at individual schools. The logo is suitable for use across a broad range of applications including team sports apparel, jerseys, business collateral, stadiums, gymnasiums and beyond. Caffelli is glad to have been able to develop a logo that captures the winning spirit and heart of PIL.
